The rise of Mobley

Evan Mobley could end up being a generational talent, If he puts in the work. He had an impressive rookie campaign that saw him average 15-3-8 on decent efficiency, and place 2nd in ROTY voting. His amazing ability on the defensive end is what leads many to believe he will be a special player in the league one day. But that really all depends on his offensive ability. Which brings up my big concern, his finishing around the rim. I know its only been three games into the 2023 NBA season, but what we’ve seen from Evan this season to put it nicely hasn’t been pretty on the offensive end. There was a clip that went viral on twitter of Mobley getting to the rim and just throwing the ball up at the backboard, not even coming close to making the layup. As a Cavalier fan this is fairly concerning as it looks like Mobley hasn’t worked on his offensive game that much in the offseason. Of course he has only played three games this season but its still a big concern in many fans eyes. I’m still very excited to see Mobley put his talents on display this season and hope he eventually finds his rhythm offensively.
